..... is never what I expect.
It is only in adventure that some people succeed in knowing themselves - in finding themselves.

The wicked witch of east and other strange tales...
Jeremiah just left after visiting for 3 days. It was a whirlwind tour, a basic overview of Panama but I had fun. Despite being the rainy season the weather was pretty good and even though I was suffering from what I like to call "balboa's revenge" I made it through mostly everything I'd wanted to do. It was nice to see a face from home here and Jeremiah is a great friend. I am hoping he can come back someday when he has more time. Here are few shots from School, Halloween, and Panama this weekend!

We counted up our feelings....
Only two more weeks to vacation. I CANNOT WAIT. I am spending 5 days hanging out here, going to the mountains with my friend, to the beach with Fernando, relaxing and sleeping. AND THEN I am headed to Cartagena, Colombia with Laura (my favorite travel buddy!) to meet up with Elise. We are there for 4 days, just enough time.
Before we leave there is a lot going on at school! We have United Nations Day and Bringing Literacy to Life. Fun days for the kids AND the teachers. I always love seeing the kids dress up.
Ok. Here are a few more pictures... INCLUDING pictures of the apartment:

Tales from Somewhere

Buen Camino
319 kilometers.
New friends.
New perspective.
New focus.
This trip to Spain was one, if not THE, hardest thing I've ever done. I learned so much about myself that I would have never known before. I learned that my mind is much stronger than I give it credit for. I was completely capable of convincing my body that it wasn't capable of doing what it needed to..... I am proud of myself for finishing this Camino. I am more proud of myself for not turning around and putting myself on the next plane home (also aided by the fact I didn't want to pay the fee!) I had plenty of time to think about the things that needed thinking and got to practice a little patience (something that I need to work on every day.) It helped put into perspective that I am expecting from myself and my own limitations. All in all, a great trip but not one I'll soon repeat.

Time Flies.....
When you're having fun.
Of course it does, except it DOES NOT make the end of school come any sooner. We have 18 more days of school yet but it feels like tomorrow is that last day..... how disappointing!
The past month hasn't held much for me. The end of Alice in Wonderland, some good theater, new people, more sleep, and in general an increased desire to be home for a little while.
Only 29 more days and I will see the US! I can't wait to see my family and my friends, to sleep in my bed, to eat good mexican food with my mom, to shop at Target...... small things, I know.
I am excited about my trip to Spain but I wish I had more time to spend at home as well.....
Ok, here are a few pictures of the past few weeks.
